You know how it is - too many plates, spinning in too many directions. At different times in life, one of the plates inevitably becomes heavier than the others.
Life happens, and a shift in health, stress, work, parenting issues, marriage problems, lack of sleep etc. can take you from feeling like you are barely holding on to crumbling at the floor in an instant.
As the plate comes crashing to the ground, and you dive to catch it, the one you are balancing on your left foot starts to wobble, and then your right foot and before you know it, you are lying in a puddle of broken plates, tears, stress and guilt.
While true balance is not always possible, there are tips, tricks and tools that you can use when you feel like your plates are spinning out of control.
One of my biggest plate-dropping moments happened when my son Hunter was 4 years old and my daughter Kiersley was just 14 months old. My husband and I were both teaching at the time and so between daycare and school, the germs were everywhere. There was a period before my breaking point where one or both of my kids were sick every week for about 6 weeks in a row.
We should have been named honorary patients at our pediatrician’s office as much as we were in there over that period of time. I was so tired of hearing, “you just need to wait it out and let it run its course” while watching my kiddos suffer over and over again. I was exhausted and frustrated and felt so helpless. The plates were crumbling around me.
One day I was introduced to something that completely changed our lives and jump started our journey into supporting our bodies and our immune systems. I began digging into the many ways I could take action now - instead of just “waiting it out”.
I could not believe the difference in our health and wellness as we began to support our bodies the way they were intended.
Something shifted, and now I am on a mission to empower moms just like me who are sick of feeling helpless, who are tired of feeling like they are juggling all of those plates alone and who want to learn how they can build their own toolkit, and support the health and well-being of themselves and their families while living their best lives.
